The incomparable Mexican fans did it again: a total of 345,694 attendees over the weekend charmed the F1
® community at the FORMULA 1 GRAN PREMIO DE MÉXICO 2019
TM. The figure represents an all-time attendance record for the F1
®ESTA, thanks to a Sunday peak of 138,435 fans that came together at the Autódromo Hermanos Rodríguez.
Before the racing action started, fans roared during the Drivers' Parade, cheering the drivers during a lap of the track. All 20 of the drivers that took to the grid were appreciative and amazed at the warmth of the Mexican fans. Checo Pérez, the Mexican driver, drew the loudest ovations from the crowds that packed the grandstands all around the track, proving once again that they are simply the best fans in the world.
The last day of the FORMULA 1 GRAN PREMIO DE MÉXICO 2019
TM was full of vibrant colours courtesy of Opening Ceremony parade, which featured an adaptation of the traditional Oaxaca
Guelaguetza. Mexicans swelled with pride as the national anthem was being performed by a choir of Tehuana girls from the Juchitán Elementary School under a spectacular display by Mexican Air Force and Navy aircraft.
At the end of the 71 lap race stipulated for the F1
®ESTA, the iconic Mexican podium brought the energy to its peak, as Lewis Hamilton’s car appeared right in front of him on the stage of the Foro Sol. Next to him, Sebastian Vettel and Valtteri Bottas – who finished second and third, respectively – to celebrate before a joyful crowd at the Autódromo Hermanos Rodríguez.
Moments later, DJ Tiësto got everyone on their feet with an unforgettable performance to bring to a close the proceedings at the FORMULA 1 GRAN PREMIO DE MÉXICO 2019
TM on a high note.
