Less than 90 days before the Autódromo Hermanos Rodríguez track resounds with the roar of Formula 1 engines, the promoters of FORMULA 1 GRAN PREMIO DE MÉXICO^TM have appointed Mexican driver Esteban Gutiérrez as an official ambassador for the 2018 edition of the race - which will take place on October 26, 27 and 28. “The race is an opportunity to showcase Mexico to the world and this includes our national talent. With that in mind, this year we have invited Esteban to be a part of our team and help us share our F1^®ESTA’s spirit with the world. Esteban has earned his place among the motorsports community, with hard work and perseverance, and this makes him a great example for future generations, as well as a great fit for our event,” stated Federico González Compeán, General Director of the FORMULA 1 GRAN PREMIO DE MÉXICO^TM. In his role as ambassador of the FORMULA 1 GRAN PREMIO DE MÉXICO^TM, Esteban Gutiérrez’s main responsibility will be communicating what makes the Mexican race so special compared to other venues in F1^®. Through his participation, Esteban will also help demonstrate that Mexico has so much to offer in terms of culture, gastronomy, tourism and entertainment. “I feel very grateful and honoured to have been invited to serve as an ambassador of the FORMULA 1 GRAN PREMIO DE MÉXICO^TM. Since the beginning of this year, Gutiérrez has been working as a simulator driver for the Mercedes-AMG Formula 1 team. The Mexican had previously competed in Formula 1^® for three seasons – two with the Sauber F1 team and one with the Haas F1 Team.
