Nico Rosberg (Mercedes, pole position): “Starting from the pole position, will be definitely a great start. The straight to the curve is not that long, so it will be an exciting competition, and I also trust we have an excellent racing car. The Foro is extraordinary. I had the chance to cross it after Q3 and it was incredible. I can’t wait for the racing day to come”. Sebastian Vettel (Ferrari, starting from the second row): “This was a unique time and so exciting to see so many people: grandstands here look much bigger than in other countries and even so, they are totally occupied. It is very especial!” Max Verstappen (Toro Rosso, starting from the fourth row): “Tomorrow’s race will be thrilling. It seems it’s going to rain, which would be better for us, since ours is a very good-handle car in the rain. I love this track and it is emotional to see so fervent fans on the tiers: we can feel the support, especially when we entered the For. It is so cool! Really, we are expecting to give a great show tomorrow” Fernando Alonso (McLaren Honda, starting from the eight row): “We are waiting for rain and chaos tomorrow!” Lewis Hamilton (Mercedes, starting from the first row): “It was a great day. I really enjoyed driving it. The audience is also impressive, and continuously encouraging, is really pleasant. The track had a better grip, so it was more entertaining to drive in general, it was a smoothly qualification without setbacks. During some races, pole position marks the difference. But in this case, I don’t mind having arrived in second place since the straight to the curve is not that long, I am convinced tomorrow I will have a great start”. Sergio ‘Checo’ Perez (Force India, starting from the fifth row): ‟It was a privilege racing in home feeling this support from fans. They have filled me up with energy and this has encouraged me to give them a reason to celebrate for the weekend, this is the best way to reward them. I think we had a great day and finished in a competitive position, especially when you see the short distance from Max Verstappen. I know expectations will be high for tomorrow, but that means really positive push. I just have to focus on following the usual routine and thinking tomorrow’s race is a regular one. The car is in great conditions, we did our job and the only thing left to do, is succeeding in the race”.
